“A not to be missed experience”
We did the one night trip in August and really enjoyed the experience. Our de-luxe cabin was much larger and better equipped than expected and very comfortable for a short stay.
The boat was only about a quarter full so we had plenty of room,we were the only Brit's on board the remainder of the guests were Aussies who were very good company.
The service on the junk was excellent but only the cruise director spoke good English and could answer I query I had,the food was very enjoyable and the drinks not as pricey as expected.
We enjoyed the scenery, the two trips and especially the swim before breakfast,we expected the water and the beach would be full of garbage but the beach was beautifully clean and there was very little rubbish in the sea. We also expected to see lots of other junks and yes we did see some but not the masses some reviewers have reported.
We would recommend this trip and the Jasmine Junk although the drive to and from Hanoi is a bit of a pain.

My favorite one night two-day cruise in Halong Bay, nice cabins, food, service, staff, trip to the beach is so so, scenery of Halong is most beautiful. Internet access in restaurant works most of the time.
“Halong bay cruise is a must”
My wife and I did a 3 days two nights cruise with Jasmine and stayed in a junior suite, which has been tastefully decorated and even had a full size Jacuzzi bath but didn't work though. Overall nice boat, very good staff and some spoke good English. The itinerary was good, enjoyed the bike ride and kayaking. But the food was average. The BBQ food had been pre-cooked and warmed up over the BBQ. So its cold food. The scenery was stunning but shame about the rubbish floating around, that's certainly deter a lot of tourists from swimming here . The government should do a bit more to educate the villages or staff on boats to keep the bay clean to attract more tourists.
We will come again.

We stayed on the boat for one night but wished we had stayed for the two nights ( there are two options available ). The cabin was very clean and we had a large double bed. The bathroom was big and very clean. The staff was amazing but the food average. There were extra activities during the trip. Don't miss the morning swim. The view of the bay just amazing , especially the sunset!

The Jasmine 'junk' boat was our overnight accommodation for our Halong Bay trip and it was a real highlight of our holiday - far from its junk name suggests. The boat is gorgeous, with very comfortable and relatively spacious rooms - even a walk in shower. We had to take a lower grade room than we paid for due to monsoon rearrangements bein necessary, however this wasn't the Jasmine's fault and it didn't dampen our stay.
The boat was luxurious, the food fantastic, and the staff were incredibly attentive. There is clearly a lot of pride on this boat. There is a lot to do on the cruise as well, including sightseeing of a floating village, cave visit, and a nice dip in Halong Bay on a warm day. Definitely a highlight of our whole trip to Asia.
